Big Reunion tour snubs girl groups


Eternal, Atomic Kitten and Girl Thing have been snubbed from the next ‘Big Reunion’ tour in favour of an all-boy band line-up.

Concert promoters have decided to drop the girl bands from the upcoming October tour in order to boost ticket sales among women by touring acts such as Blue, A1, 5th Story, 3T, Damage, 911 and 5ive.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "This tour will be massive, the whole idea is that the past is the future – and these bands have huge followings desperate to get out and see them perform their old classics. There will be plenty of partying and fun on the road.

"We haven’t seen anything like this for years and the demand from female fans is out there, so the show producers decided this twist and losing the girl groups would give their loyal viewers exactly what they want."

Series two stars Eternal and Girl Thing have been replaced on the tour by by boy bands from the first series of ‘The Big Reunion’, including 5ive, 911 and Blue, who are expected to headline the 13 dates this October.

5ive’s Abz Love previously spoke out about his desire to quit the band following their upcoming summer shows but it’s now reported his bandmates – Scott Robinson, Sean Conlon and Ritchie Neville – have talked him into joining them on the tour.

A friend of Abz said: "Abz felt he owed it to the rest of the boys to give them one last run of gigs with this tour before they part ways."
