Big Brother’s Bit On The Side gets the axe

‘Big Brother’ bosses are to axe ‘Bit On The Side’.
The side show – which is hosted by Rylan Clark-Neal – is being cancelled in favour of rebooting former spin-off show ‘Big Brother’s Little Brother’.
A source said: "Ratings for ‘Bit On The Side’ have dropped in recent years. It is felt that it has had its time. Channel 5 now want ‘Big Brother’s spin-off to be like it was years ago. So it makes sense to bring back ‘Little Brother.’"
‘Little Brother’ – previously hosted by Dermot O’Leary and George Lamb when ‘Big Brother’ still aired on Channel 4 – was a magazine show which saw the host discuss events in the house with guests who included celebrities, TV critics, evicted housemates and contestants friends and family.
‘Bit On The Side’ is a late night panel show, discussing events in the house with a panel of celebrity guests.
The new format will air before the main programme.
The source told The Daily Star newspaper: "It will be a more relaxed affair without any swearing or the naughty games people often saw on ‘Bit On The Side.’"
‘Big Brother’ has seen viewing figures plummet and the contract for the Channel 5 reality show is up at the end of 2018.
Meanwhile, host Emma Willis recently admitted if the show does not have a successful series this summer it could disappear from screens altogether.
She told the Mirror: "I don’t know, we’re all waiting. I think they’re in negotiations at the minute. I’d hate to see it disappear. Fingers crossed we have a fantastic summer series and the channel want to keep it."
