Bhavna Limbachia wants Killing Eve role

Bhavna Limbachia has set her sights on joining ‘Killing Eve’ after her ‘Coronation Street’ character was killed off last night (20.03.19).
The 34-year-old star has issued a come-and-get-me plea to Phoebe Waller-Bridge – who developed the BBC One drama from the ‘Codename Villanelle’ novella series by Luke Jennings – admitting it is her "ultimate dream" to be a part of the second series.
She said: "’Killing Eve’ is my ultimate dream. I think Phoebe Waller-Bridge is just a fantastic writer and I’d love to play such a strong character.
"I’ve had so many great opportunities on ‘Coronation Street’ and they’ve trusted me with so many big storylines, so I’m ready to get my teeth into something definitely.
"I’m just excited to see what the future holds. I’ve spent a good part of two years crying on screen, so I’d love to do some more comedy and do some more drama."
Bhavna bowed out of the ITV soap last night when her character Rana Habeeb was killed off after the Underworld factory roof fell on top of her on her wedding day to Kate Connor (Faye Brookes).
And the star admits filming the hard-hitting scenes covered in dust was the "most challenging time" in her career.
She said: "They were quite intense and quite difficult. Probably the most challenging time in my career.
"I filmed under rubble for about a week. It was full on.
"I was put on a board every day with wheels on and they wheeled me in and out of the rubble every day, so that was interesting.
"We had goggles and masks to protect us from the dust, so that was a good challenge."
Despite asking to be killed off, Bhavna admitted she had spent "weeks" racking her brain to think of a reason why Rana might leave Kana so her character wouldn’t have to meet her maker – but she decided it was for the best for her to die.
She said: "It’s the nicest place I’ve ever worked and I was getting comfortable.
"I would stay forever, but this was the only time before I have more responsibility to take a few risks, so I decided to leave.
"I was trying to come up with reasons for why Rana would leave Kate. I was racking my brains for weeks trying to come up with a reason, but the truth is she would never leave Kate.
"The only way they could be apart is if the decision was taking out of their hands."
What’s more, Rana’s death has led to some viewers comparing her passing to an online theory that LGBTQ+ couples aren’t allowed to last long term in fictional shows and films.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, she added: "My decision to leave and be killed off was never meant to offend the LGBTQ+ community.
"It was made with the same way I’ve tried to portray the character throughout the years – and that’s with truth and integrity."
