Beth Tweddle suing The Jump following 2016 accident

Beth Tweddle is suing ‘The Jump’ after a horror injury in 2016 left her temporarily unable to walk.
The Olympic Bronze medallist gymnast is taking legal action against the makers of the Channel 4 reality show, in which contestants compete in a host of winter sports, as her recovery is "still ongoing" and she still suffers from the injury now, however, the defendants involved have so far denied all liability for her injuries.
In a statement, she said: "It’s been a long journey and my recovery is still ongoing. I’m not sure I’ll ever be 100 per cent again.
"The effects of my accident still interrupt my daily life and, aside from the severe physical injuries at the start, the hardest part of the recovery process has been the psychological element – dealing with and processing the whole accident and the aftermath of what happened."
The incident occurred during ski training for the reality show when the 33-year-old gymnast smashed into barriers while practicing a jump, resulting in her breaking her neck.
The retired athlete – who announced she was pregnant with her first child with husband Andy Allen in December – was airlifted to hospital from the ski slope in Austria, and has since suffered flashbacks of the traumatic incident.
She added: "I said before that I don’t want this accident to define me and I work hard every day to ensure that isn’t the case.
"It’s disappointing that we have had to seek court proceedings as we had hoped the makers of the programme might be willing to work with us to settle the case.
"I just want to make sure that there is full accountability for people involved in creating shows like this and to help prevent others having to go through what I have for the past three years."
