Benedict Cumberbatch thinks makeup is "wonderful".
The ‘Imitation Game’ star has admitted that he has the beauty product to thank for concealing his jet lag, after only arriving in Los Angeles an hour before the start of the Golden Globes.
Speaking at the award ceremony – where he was nominated for Best Actor in a Drama Motion Picture – he said: "I literally landed about an hour before the ceremony started.
"Makeup is a wonderful thing for men as well as women."
The 38-year-old actor recently revealed that him and his fiancée, Sophie Hunter, 36 – who joined him at the prestigious award ceremony on Sunday (11.01.15) night – were expecting their first child.
When asked how he was preparing for the new arrival, he told E! News: "Oh, you know, the usual ways."
In a statement released on Wednesday (07.01.15), a representative for the couple confirmed the happy news.
They said: "I am delighted to confirm that Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are expecting their first child. They are both over the moon."
Meanwhile, Benedict previously revealed that his filming commitments have meant that he isn’t focusing on planning his upcoming wedding.
When asked if he had started making preparations for the big day, he said: "One thing at a time.
"I’m playing Sherlock now – just about to start – so my main focus is going to be on that."
