Ben Haenow wins The X Factor

Ben Haenow has won ‘The X Factor’.

The 29-year-old singer – who impressed the judges with his rendition of ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’ at his room audition – received the highest amount of public votes, beating Fleur East, 26, to the crown.

Speaking after his win, he said: "Oh my God, I can’t believe it. I can’t believe it. I can’t believe it. Thank you so much for making my dreams come true. This is it; thank you so much."

His mentor, Simon Cowell, said: "I could not be happier for you, Ben. You deserved it; you’re a great guy. This is your moment. I’m so proud of you."

The 10,000 people that packed the SSE Arena in Wembley, north-west London were wowed with performances from international superstars.

‘X Factor’ alumni, Olly Murs, was joined on stage by Demi Lovato to perform their new track, ‘Up’ whilst Sam Smith performed his smash hit song ‘Stay With Me’.

One Direction blew the roof off the arena with their performance of ‘Where Do Broken Hearts Go’ off their latest album, ‘Four’, with the help of The Rolling Stones rocker, Ronnie Wood whilst the 16 ‘X Factor’ finalists opened the show with a high-energy performance of ‘What A Feeling’.

Meanwhile, Mel B – who was replaced by former judge, Tulisa Contostavlos during last night’s (13.12.14) episode – made her return to the ITV show after recovering from a mystery illness.

The official X Factor Twitter account broke the good news earlier today, writing: "Mel B is back on #XFactor tonight.

"After the hospital discharged her & following medical advice Mel is deemed well enough for the show. (sic)"

Mel’s final contestant, Andrea Faustini, was booted off the show last night (13.12.14).

After his exit, the third-placed singer said: "It’s just incredible because I’ve come so far. This has been the most crazy and beautiful experience of my life. It’s so unexpected and I’m so happy anyway."
