Belle Hassan rejected for EastEnders role

Belle Hassan was rejected by ‘EastEnders’ because she "wasn’t rough enough".
The 22-year-old actress – whose famous father Tamer Hassan appeared in two episodes of the BBC soap back in 2008 – is looking to follow in his footsteps, but she had a knock back when she tried out for an Albert Square role.
She told the Daily Star Online: "I auditioned for EastEnders just before ‘Love Island’, but I was rejected as they said ‘I wasn’t rough enough.’ "
Over the years, she has appeared in the likes of 2013’s ‘The Last Seven’ and 2017’s ‘Bitter Harvest’, but a soap role is yet to materialise.
Instead, Belle would appear on the ITV2 dating show last summer, where she enjoyed a short-lived fling with Anton Danyluk.
The ‘Love Island’ beauty previously revealed how her dad helped her land a spot in the romantic villa.
She explained: "I had a conversation with my dad and he asked me if I wanted to do the show.
"I didn’t really think much of it and before I knew it one of his friends [got me in contact] with someone at ITV, and then I did the audition and started the application process."
Belle and Anton split just five weeks after leaving the show, and last September she suggested her former flame "got caught up" with his newfound fame and was more interested in "going out" than spending time with her.
She said at the time: "He just got caught up with everything, like fame and going out. He wanted to party, party, party and I think he just forgot about me a little bit. That’s fine, I understand that.
"It’s hard because he’s going to all these clubs where girls are screaming ‘I love you’ at him.
"It’s going to give you an ego-boost and make you think you’re the man.
"It must be overwhelming. We don’t want to put pressure on each other so we said let’s put a hold on it and see how things go."
