Beady Eye split on good terms

Beady Eye split up on "good terms", guitarist Andy Bell has revealed.

Liam Gallagher announced the group he formed in the wake of Oasis’ split in 2009 had parted ways last month after releasing two albums – ‘Different Gear, Still Speeding’ and ‘BE’.

The singer made the revelation on his Twitter account simply stating, "Beady Eye are no longer. Thanks for all your support".

Now Andy has revealed the decision to call time on the band – also comprised of former Oasis members Gem Archer and Chris Sharrock and Jay Mehler – was made by Liam but he insists everyone is cool with each other.

He told NME magazine: "Liam had been pretty quiet for a while, and then he just let us know his heart wasn’t really in it any more.

"It ended on good terms and we’re all still mates. We wished each other the best of luck and it’s all cool. It just sort of ran its course."

Andy – who played bass in Oasis – isn’t sure what Liam’s musical plans are now and he doesn’t know if the ‘Wonderwall’ singer intends to reform his former band with brother Noel Gallagher.

When asked if the split has made it easier for an Oasis reunion to happen, he said: "I have no idea. It would be great – whether or not I was involved."

Now Beady Eye have broken up, Andy has reformed his first group Ride.

The indie band – comprised of Andy, Laurence Colbert, Steve Queralt and Mark Gardener – are to go on a nine-date tour across Europe, America, Canada and the UK in 2015 and will kick off their shows at Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom on Friday May 22.

Tickets go on sale Friday November 21 from www.ridemusic.net
