BBC iPlayer launches EastEnders: Back to Ours

BBC iPlayer is to launch new online series ‘EastEnders: Back to Ours’.

The on demand service has created a new online-only show which will see a number of popular castmates from the BBC One soap – including on-screen man and wife Shane Richie (Alfie Moon) and Jessie Wallace (Kat Moon) – relive some of their most iconic moments.

Shane said of the upcoming project: "What a wonderful time I had sitting on the sofa with Jessie watching 12 years of Kat and Alfie. We laughed, we cried and we giggled as we remembered the past 12 years."

Diane Parish and Tameka Empson, who play sisters Denise and Kim Fox, Rudolph Walker (Patrick Trueman), Himesh Patel (Tamwar Masood) and Nitin Ganatra (Masood Ahmed) will also star in the ‘Gogglebox’ style show in which viewers will see their reactions to some of their own character’s most memorable scenes.

They will sit in their on-screen homes while they take a nostalgic look back at clips – which date back to when the show first began in 1985 – and share behind-the-scenes gossip on their favourite storylines.

‘Back to Ours’ was commissioned for BBC iPlayer in celebration of the soap’s upcoming 30th anniversary and will begin in early January in the run up to the live anniversary week in February.
