Barbra Streisand slams Harvey Weinstein

Barbra Streisand has branded Harvey Weinstein as "vulgar".
The 75-year-old singer and actress has revealed she had an unpleasant experience with the disgraced producer – who has been accused of sexually harassing a number of female employees – after he became "boorish" when she refused to sing for him at the opening of his 2014 Broadway play ‘Finding Neverland’.
Barbra said: "I thought he was vulgar. He wanted me to come there on his arm and sing a song on the album. I said, ‘No. I can’t do that.’"
The ‘Woman in Love’ singer alleges Weinstein then threatened to never work with her, and to stop sending his films to screen at her home.
She added to Variety magazine: "That kind of stupidity. So I thought he was a boorish guy."
Barbra’s comments mark the first time she has spoken about 65-year-old Weinstein since the first allegations against him were published back in October last year.
Since the first claims were made, actresses including Uma Thurman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cara Delevingne, Angelina Jolie, and Salma Hayek have come forward to share their own allegations of sexual harassment against Weinstein.
Other actress, including Jennifer Lawrence and Meryl Streep, have admitted the producer never behaved poorly around them, but stood up for those who have accused him of such actions, and slammed him for his alleged actions.
In the midst of the allegations, Weinstein’s wife Georgina Chapman – with whom he has seven-year-old daughter India and four-year-old son Dashiell – announced she will be seeking a divorce, and it was recently revealed she doesn’t see herself as a "victim" of her estranged husband.
Her close friend Keren Craig said: "She doesn’t see herself as a victim. That’s very important. She’s just trying to get on with her life. You’ve got to realise George is such a strong woman. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a very hard time, but she’s quite inspirational."
