Barbra Streisand asks Apple to change Siri’s pronunciation of her name

Barbra Streisand has asked Apple to change how Siri pronounces her last name.
The ‘Woman in Love’ hitmaker is not impressed with how the iPhone assistant says her name so she phoned up the company’s CEO, Tim Cook, to ask for him to have it altered in time for the phone’s software update next month.
Speaking on NPR, she explained: "She [Siri] pronounces my name wrong. Streisand with a soft S, like sand on the beach. I’ve been saying this for my whole career.
"And so what did I do? I called the head of Apple, Tim Cook, and he delightfully agreed to have Siri change the pronunciation of my name, finally, with the next update on September 30th. So let’s see if that happens because I will be thrilled."
The 74-year-old singer-and-actress releases her LP ‘Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway’ on Friday (26.08.16) and "shocked the hell" out of Seth MacFarlane when she asked him to duet.
The ‘Family Guy’ voice artist revealed: "When I heard that Barbra wanted to work with me it shocked the hell out of me. It still shocks the hell out of me."
Meanwhile, it has been reported that the showbiz legend is in talks to make a duet album with Adele.
An industry insider said recently: "This could easily become one of the most important and lucrative collaborations in modern music history. And they are both very much up for it.
"Despite the huge gulf in age and their different genres, both have said they would love to get together in the studio and record a duets album. The feeling is that the tracks would most likely be new versions of their own best-known numbers with maybe one of two new songs added to the mix."
Although the ‘Hello’ hitmaker and Streisand are extremely busy, they are said to be very enthusiastic about the idea and are determined to make it happen.
The source added: "Both of them have busy schedules but the logistics shouldn’t be too much of a problem because this is something they both have their hearts set on."
