Ayda Field says Robbie Williams is now ‘vegan-ish’ after health scare

Ayda Field says her husband Robbie Williams is "doing amazing" after his health scare last year – but admits he’s only "vegan-ish" when it comes to the diet he’s now following.
The ‘Party Like a Russian’ singer spent seven days in intensive care after abnormalities were found in his brain last September whilst he was on his ‘Heavy Entertainment Show Tour’.
Robbie, 44, is now fully on the road to recovery but Ayda, 39, admits her pop star spouse isn’t always fully committed to the plant-based diet he has been eating, as he still likes to indulge in a hamburger on occasions.
Appearing on UK TV show ‘Loose Women’ on Friday (01.06.18), she said: "He’s doing amazing, he’s great. Last year he had some health issues and that was an awful time for us but now it’s so nice to see him back … He’s vegan-ish now. I don’t think you can have hamburgers if you’re vegan!"
Ayda was quizzed by her fellow panellists on how she coped whilst Robbie was being treated back in the UK, whilst she was living at their Los Angeles home with their two children, daughter Teddy, five, and son Charlton, three.
The actress said: "It was tough because you’re in a completely different time zone and you don’t know what’s happening, you just want everything to be OK. Everything is OK now, everything is great. My big monkey is doing really well. He’s still got the jazz hands and is still ripping his clothes off!"
Robbie previously admitted his health scare backstage at his gig in Zurich, turned out to be worse after doctors discovered what appeared to be "blood" on his brain.
He revealed: "I had blood tests done, and I had various scans including ones of my heart and my brain, and there were some abnormalities found, including something on my brain that looked like blood. That was obviously very scary, so the decision was taken out of my hands and I was sent straight to the intensive care unit. It’s very weird to go from being on tour to suddenly being in intensive care, but that’s where I found myself."
