Australia has released two new stamps to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s 88th birthday.
The monarch is set to celebrate the milestone on April 21 and in honour of the event Australia has released one domestic base-rate stamp costing 70 cent and one international rate stamp priced at $2.60.
Australia Post Philatelic Manager, Michael Zsolt, has been quoted saying: "This royal milestone is being celebrated with two stamps using images of Her Majesty taken over recent years. We trust this stamp issue will be popular with collectors and followers of royal events."
The stamps will be available for purchase from Australia Post retail outlets from April 8.
This comes days before Duchess Catherine and Prince William leave for their tour of Australia and New Zealand, where they will be taking eight-month-old George.
They are planning to stay at the Government House in Wellington, Admiralty House in Sydney and Government House in Canberra during their three-week tour and George is expected to have his own room at the three residences, while they stay in a guest suite next door, and nanny Maria Borrallo will be nearby.
