Aston Merrygold wants to do Strictly Come Dancing

Aston Merrygold wants to do ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 28-year-old former JLS singer sat on the panel of Sky1’s dancing competition ‘Got to Dance’ for one series in 2013 and his only concern is that viewers of the BBC One ballroom and latin show won’t be happy that he’s previously been a judge and has experience as a dancer from his time in the boy band alongside Marvin Humes, Oritsé Williams and JB Gill.
Asked if he’d like to do ‘Strictly’, he exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I’ve done the judging thing so I am not sure is that fair? Is it fair for me to do that. I don’t know if people will be like no it’s not fair."
However, the hunky star thinks it looks like a "fun" show to be a part of and he could learn some new dances he’s not so familiar with such as the Viennese Waltz and and the Foxtrot.
He said: "I look at the show and I go it looks like a fun show to be a part of. Everyone that does go on the show ends up having a good time. And I probably would learn some stuff too. There are certain styles of dance that I’ve never done."
Aston is not the only member of JLS to foray into TV dance shows, as his former band mate JB has just signed up for new show ‘Dance Dance Dance’, which will rival ‘Strictly’.
The 29-year-old singer previously turned down ‘Strictly" as the schedule clashed with the group’s tour in 2013, however, he has now joined the line up and will compete alongside ‘Doctors’ actress Lucy-Jo Hudson and former ‘The Only Way is Essex’ star Jessica Wright.
JB has plenty of dancing experience under his belt having previously won the ‘Strictly Come Dancing Christmas’ special Glitterball Trophy in 2012.
The stars will be judged by former ‘Got To Dance’ judges Kimberley Wyatt and Diversity leader Ashley Banjo, with two further judges expected to be announced at a later date.
Hosting the new show is former ‘Strictly’ judge Alesha Dixon, who can’t wait to get stuck in with her new role.
The six-part series will see celebrities team up with their partner, a friend or a relative as they perform an iconic dance in the hope of impressing the tough-talking judging panel.
‘Dance Dance Dance’ will appear on ITV in the early 2017.
