Aston Merrygold signs up for Strictly

Aston Merrygold has signed up for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The former JLS singer – who previously worked as a judge on Sky 1 talent show ‘Got to Dance’ – is reportedly set to compete on the BBC One dance show this year but people are worried that his previous experience will give him an edge over the other stars.
A source told The Sun: "It doesn’t have to be ballroom or Latin dancing experience to give someone an edge.
"Aston spent years being choreographed in JLS and that rhythm and ability to follow instructions puts him streets ahead of competitors.
"And if there was ever proof he knows a thing or two about dancing, he was a judge in a dance talent show."
However, a ‘Strictly’ insider has insisted that Aston’s dance past will not give him an edge as he has no Latin or ballroom dancing experience.
The show source said: "The show is all about Latin and ballroom dancing. Other dance experience isn’t going to give anyone an advantage."
Other celebrities on the line up so far include This Morning’s Ruth Lansgford, Mollie King, actress Gemma Atkinson, EastEnders’ Davood Ghadami and Reverend Richard Coles but more are expected to be announced over the coming weeks.
