Ashton Irwin rejected by newsreader

5SOS drummer Ashton Irwin was rejected by a newsreader live on radio.
The 21-year-old drummer took a shine to the BBC’s Tina Daheley when they appeared on Nick Grimshaw’s breakfast show on Thursday (07.04.16) but was left disappointed when she rejected his invite to go to their concert.
After admiring how "great she reads the news", Nick asked Ashton and his 5 Seconds of Summer bandmates – Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood and Michael Clifford – if they wanted her to read anything out for them.
Flirty Ashton replied: "I was going to say does she want to come to our show?" and when Nick quipped, "5SOS just asked you out", Ashton clarified, "Not 5SOS, just me".
However, he was rejected by Tina, 34, who politely replied: "Ermmm, I’m busy. Thank you for the invite that’s very kind and, maybe. I didn’t know it was tonight."
Ashton joked he was "heartbroken" as his bandmates called him "creepy" for hitting on the presenter live on radio.
Nick later asked Tina: "How do you feel about turning down one of the most lusted after and loved bands in the world?"
And she replied: "Yeah, but I’m busy tonight. I’ve got work to do. I’m working. And I’m getting my roots done at lunchtime.
