Ariel Winter has paid tribute to her sister for being the "most amazing mother I’ve ever known".
The ‘Modern Family’ star has praised her elder sister Shanelle, 37, for bringing her up after she left the care of her mother Crystal Workman in October 2012 amid allegations of abuse.
She wrote on Instagram: "#HappyMothersDay to this insanely beautiful woman inside and out, my sister, my best friend. I love you so much. You are the most amazing mother I’ve ever known and we are all so grateful for you!
"Although I’m now 18 and mommy role is over, I will always have a special place in my heart for those years you raised me as your own. So this day is your day, because you deserve the world!
"I always feel so lucky that I have such an amazing role model. I hope one day I can be as wonderful as you. I love you more than anything and am so grateful to have you. Thank you for being the most amazing person on this planet and for being my everything xoxo (sic)"
Meanwhile, the 18-year-old actress’ mother Crystal recently criticised her daughter’s breast reduction surgery.
She said: "I don’t think anyone at that age should be cutting into their breasts. I am surprised she did it so young and that the doctor did it for her so young. I’m sorry, I just think this is inappropriate. She should never be embarrassed of her scars but she shouldn’t be flaunting them."
Crystal also denied claims of abuse made against her by Ariel.
She shared: "I didn’t start this battle. I haven’t seen her in three and a half years. I think Ariel is conjuring up stories to help her career at my expense and I feel as a parent I am being bullied.
"She was begging me, ‘I want to be on TV’. She would say, ‘I can do better than your clients’. She has never been pushed into the industry. Ariel has wanted to be in the industry since she was five-years-old."
