Sir Paul McCartney says he’s still writing songs with the same rule‑dodging, wide‑eyed mischief he had as a teenager.

Anthony Kiedis saved a baby’s life during Carpool Karaoke

Anthony Kiedis saved a baby’s life while filming ‘Carpool Karaoke’.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman recently recorded the segment for James Corden’s ‘Late Late Show’ with his bandmates but revealed that when they stopped to film a dance off, they came across a woman whose baby was struggling to breathe.
Speaking on ‘The Chris Moyles Show’ on Radio X, he said: "We had a dance off, which they didn’t include, but after the wrestle off we had a dance off, which led to a very interesting, unscripted moment. We danced off, we tied and then we were going to celebrate with some Mexican food on the corner. And a woman came out of her house, holding a child saying ‘My baby, my baby, my baby can’t breathe!’
"We all ran across the street, the woman thrust the baby into my arms, the baby was not breathing and I thought ‘I’m gonna try and do a little baby CPR real quick, see if I can get some air in this kid.’ Tried to open the mouth, [it was] like locked shut. So I started rubbing the belly, bubbles came out of the mouth, the eyes rolled back into place, the ambulance showed up and I handed the baby over, who was now breathing and fine, and we went back to ‘Carpool Karaoke’. It was kind of a beautiful thing that we stopped for the dance off, [as] the baby needed help and we were there. The little baby looked at me the entire time until the ambulance came, little baby Nina."
Anthony, 53, also spoke about his recent health issues, which forced the band to pull out of a festival appearance at the last minute.
He said: "I feel better than ever; I think it was kind of a blessing in disguise. Basically, my stomach shut down because of an imbalance in my homeostasis. I had my gall bladder removed once upon a time and then you have to take a little medication which over the years just throws your body out of whack and when your stomach stops functioning, you stop functioning pretty much. And I hate the sound of cancelling a show, it hurts my soul, we don’t like to cancel shows – it was only when I couldn’t stand up and I was falling on my face that they rushed me to hospital and they basically cancelled the show against my will."
