Ant and Dec to the rescue at BGT auditions

Ant and Dec came to the rescue after a fire almost broke out at the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ auditions.
Try-outs for the ITV talent show at the London Palladium at the weekend descended into chaos when the judges – Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams – decided to join in with a plate-smashing routine performed by a Greek man called Bambas.
Simon, 58, encouraged the mayhem as the judges ran onto the stage and began smashing the crockery – even chucking them at hosts And and Dec, who joined in with the fun.
But when the fire-balancing part of Bambas’ act went wrong, a glass full of flames fell off his head and onto the stage floor of the historic London building.
And and Dec saved the day by running on and throwing water onto the fire to douse the flames.
But Simon then continued the carnage when he returned to his seat – and threw all the judges’ ‘BGT’ mugs at the stage.
Producers had to intervene to warn the judges of the dangers involved and tell them to calm down.
A ‘BGT’ source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "We are used to all sorts happening on the show, but this really was the most crazy audition we have ever seen. The mess took ages to clear up."
Amanda, 46, commented: "Oh dear. I think we’re going to get grounded."
David, 46, admitted: "Well, that got slightly out of hand."
The stars of the show also took their fun to the London Underground, riding to the auditions on the tube. Amanda and Alesha, 39, shared snaps of the ride on social media.
‘Britain’s Got Talent’ returns to ITV in April.
