Annie Wallace has big plans for British Soap Awards afterparty

Annie Wallace wants a karaoke afterparty following this weekend’s British Soap Awards.
The ‘Hollyoaks’ actress – who has played Sally St. Claire on the Channel 4 soap since 2015 – is feeling the excitement about the ceremony at The Lowry in Manchester on Saturday (01.05.19) night, and she has big fans for the evening.
Taking to Twitter, she wrote: "Ready for tomorrow night! Soap Awards outfit – tick… Cooling fan for handbag – tick… Voice ready for afterparty karaoke – tick.
"OK @SoapAwards … let’s be ‘avin ya! Love catching up with my mates from the other soaps as well… COME ON @HOLLYOAKS
! (sic)"
Although Annie isn’t nominated, her co-stars including Nadine Mulkerrin (Cleo McQueen), Nathan Sussex (Buster Smith) and Talia Grant (Brooke Hathaway) are on the shortlist for best actress, villain and newcomer respectively.
‘Hollyoaks’ is also in the running for the best single episode category – ‘Where do I belong?’ – while its football abuse storyline has also earned it some recognition and a chance to take home a prize.
Meanwhile last year, Annie – who became the first-ever transgender person to play a regular transgender character in a leading UK soap when she joined the soap four years ago – heaped praise on the team for "writing important LGBT+ stories" and also investing in their characters "100 per cent".
She said at the time: "One final thing. I’m proud of @hollyoaks. Big time proud. Not only fantastic entertainment, but the most supportive environment in front of, and behind the camera. Writing important LGBT+ stories without needing to trumpet it from the rooftops & investing in their characters 100% (sic)"
