Anneka Rice ‘ridiculously excited’ to be ‘pain free’

Anneka Rice is "ridiculously excited" to be "pain free" and able to start fitness training for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 60-year-old TV presenter will take part in the Latin and ballroom show later this year, and while her participation had been in doubt due to a shoulder injury, she appears to be on the mend.
She wrote on Twitter: "Just had steroid injection on my injured shoulder. Ridiculously excited about being pain free! Let the fitness training commence (bit late I know but i like a terrifying deadline) (sic)"
The ‘Challenge Anneka’ presenter recently suffered a fall and injured her shoulder, which impacted her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ training sessions.
She said: "I had quite a bad accident and hurt my shoulder.
"I fell badly on a very wet grassy slope. I have been in physio for that so haven’t done what I needed to do."
Anneka has undergone physio for the past six weeks.
She explained: "It’s getting better but it’s meant I haven’t been able to do the ‘all singing, all dancing’. It’s slightly holding me back. I told the Strictly bosses, ‘You do realise I won’t be able to do one of these steps.’ "
Anneka – who is no stranger to celebrity reality shows having taken part in ‘Come Dine With Me’, ‘Celebrity Hunted’, and ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ – feels "awkward" about strutting her stuff on the dancefloor.
She said: "I feel so awkward about dancing. No one in my family has ever seen me dance and I’ve never done any classes or anything like that. I don’t know why, but I thought this was the year to learn."
