Anne-Marie to ‘party really hard’ if she wins BRIT Award

Anne-Marie is going to "party really hard" if she wins British Breakthrough Act at the BRIT Awards.
The ‘Alarm’ hitmaker is up for the prestigious accolade at the bash held at London’s The O2 on Wednesday night (22.02.17) and she is quietly confident that she stands a chance of beating her peers Rag’n’ Bone Man, Stormzy, Skepta and Blossoms to the prize as she is the only woman shortlisted in the category.
Ahead of the ceremony, she told London’s Evening Standard newspaper: "In the British Breakthrough Act I’m the only girl nominated so I already feel like I’ve won a little bit, I’m halfway there already.
"It would be amazing, just the fact that it’s the BRITs, it’s all about UK music, it would just be amazing. I don’t want to think that I’m going to do it but It would be incredible if that happened."
However, if she does pick up the prize on the night, the 25-year-old singer – who missed out on the BRITs Critics’ Choice award, which went to ‘Human’ hitmaker Rag’n’ Bone Man – hasn’t got a speech ready, but admits she’ll be trying to stop herself from cursing on stage.
She added to the publication: "I’m not going to have a speech prepared.
"I’m just going to remind myself to not swear because I’m so bad at that. I’ll try not to. I’m just going to party really hard if I win. I think I’m going to go to every single after party."
Meanwhile, the pop beauty has teased that she plans to release her debut solo LP later this year.
She said: "It’s definitely this year, it’s definitely more towards summer and autumn.
"I haven’t got a specific date yet, but it’s all ready.
"I just need to release a couple more songs before I release the album, just to get some more stuff out before it’s there.
"I’m so, so happy, which is why I feel better. I feel good about everything because I love my own music – I just feel really satisfied at the moment.
"I feel like whatever happens, I’m just knowing it comes from my heart. I’ve absolutely loved it, it’s exciting."
