Anne Heche has split from James Tupper.
The 48-year-old actress and her ‘Men in Trees’ co-star have gone their separate ways after more than 10 years together, but still "care very much" for one another.
The former couple have vowed to work together to raise their eight-year-old son Atlas, as well as 15-year-old Homer, Anne’s son from her marriage to Coleman Laffoon.
Anne said in a statement: "James and I have shared a great life together and have many wonderful memories. We’ve enjoyed working together, most recently on ‘The Brave’, where he joins us for our two mind-bending finale episodes.
"Relationships change and grow; we’re taking time for that. We care very much for each other and plan to continue raising our two beautiful boys in love and harmony. Thank you for allowing us privacy as our family evolves."
According to Us Weekly, Anne has filed a petition to seek joint custody of Atlas, and "reasonable visitation" rights for both parents.
She is also asking the 52-year-old actor pay her legal fees during a court battle.
Despite having been together for over a decade, Anne – who was previously in a relationship with Ellen DeGeneres – and James never married, and the actress previously described herself as "eternally engaged" and in no hurry to tie the knot.
She said: "I’ve already said yes. When I’m 60 I’m happy to walk down the aisle."
And for every year they never married, James – who was previously married to Kate Mayfield – presented Anne with a new ring.
She previously said: "Well, he’s given me a ring every year so I don’t want to stop that. I have quite a collection.
"Besides, I’ve been married before and so has he. I don’t know what either of us would gain or what would change that would benefit us."
