Anna Passey would love crime drama role ‘at some point’

Anna Passey has admitted it would be "lovely" to take a break from ‘Hollyoaks’ "at some point" to star in a British crime drama.
The 35-year-old star has played Sienna Blake on the Channel 4 soap since 2012, and while she wouldn’t want to ever "close the door" on the character, she wouldn’t mind trying her hand at other roles in the future.
She said: "I can’t imagine ever having enough of Sienna, but at the same time I’m particularly interested in British crime dramas and would love to be in an eight-part series or something.
"I never thought I’d be in ‘Hollyoaks’ this long – it was meant to be a one-year story – so the fact it’s lasted this long is great.
"At some point a break to do something else would be lovely, but I can’t imagine ever wanting to close the door."
Anna met her boyfriend, Kyle Pryor, when he joined ‘Hollyoaks’ in 2018 as Laurie Shelby, and the evil character went on to sexually assault Sienna.
But the actress has admitted she owes the show’s boss Bryan Kirkwood a gift for bringing Kyle into the show.
She added to new! magazine: "When the storyline was pitched to me I’d pictured someone older and lechy.
"He definitely wasn’t what I was expecting and neither was this situation.
"I feel I owe Bryan a nice present for the introduction."
Should Anna join a crime drama in the near future it wouldn’t be her first role away from ‘Hollyoaks’ since she joined the soap eight years ago.
Last year, she filmed a cameo in Netflix drama ‘Free Rein’, which tells the story of a US teen who comes over to England for the summer and develops a friendship with a horse.
She said at the time: "I was really thrilled to be asked to go over and do ‘Free Rein’, which is also produced by Lime Pictures.
"I’d watched the first two series and I’m such a pony girl at heart that I loved it.
"If I was a teenager I would have been obsessed with that show, so to be asked to be a part of it was really lovely."
Anna played horse rider Felicity who is a judge in the try-outs for the Under 18s Riding Team, and the soap star loved rolling back the years by going horse riding again.
