Anna Passey: Hollyoaks break was ‘necessary’

Anna Passey says her ‘Hollyoaks’ break was "necessary".
The 34-year-old actress will reprise her role as Sienna Blake in the Channel 4 soap when her alter-ego is released from prison after she was banged up for confessing to the killing of her daughter Nico Blake (Persephone Swales-Dawson), but her actions will be ruled as self-defence following a trial.
While Anna enjoyed a rest from the village, she can’t wait to portray her character again, complete with new bob haircut.
She said: "I am thrilled to be back! A break was necessary, but I’m so excited to be back in the thick of it!
"I love Si Si’s new bob."
Sienna will be shocked to find Nancy Osborne (Jessica Fox) waiting outside the prison gates for her when she leaves jail, but Anna is delighted to have more screen time with former ‘Crossroads’ star.
She said: "It’s so nice to be working with Jess Fox (Nancy) again! I love her, and I love Sienna and Nancy together.
"I also can never say no to a bit of Sienna and Grace madness!"
But Sienna may not be too pleased when she finds out Nancy wants her to help wreak revenge on her husband Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) after finding out about his affair with her best pal Mandy Morgan (Sarah Jayne Dunn).
Anna added: "Nancy figures that Sienna owes her one, so she wants to enlist Sienna’s help in getting revenge on Darren, after discovering his affair with Mandy.
"Sienna likes that Nancy has forgiven her for the past, but doesn’t want to get involved in her plan.
"She wants to put her difficult past behind her, and start a new, honest and simple life.
"She wants to lead a straightforward life, that avoids trouble. She has her sights set on becoming a teacher, where she can help people, and contribute to society. She wants a fresh start, full of positivity."
What’s more, a new romance looks to be on the cards for Sienna – with Brody Hudson (Adam Woodward).
Anna said: "She finds an unlikely connection with Brody. He is going through a difficult time, and Sienna can empathise with what it’s like to have a painful past.
"However, they find there is a spark, which is tricky, as he has been seeing Liberty."
