Andrew Maxwell opens up on I’m A Celebrity boredom

Andrew Maxwell "counted the trees in the jungle" because there’s "a void of things to do" on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’
The comedian – who became the second star to be voted off the ITV reality show over the weekend – has opened up on the amount of downtime viewers don’t see on air, as the campmates have to find ways to fill the gap.
Appearing on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’ on Monday (02.12.19), he said: "Yeah, it’s not boredom – boredom is when you’re got something to do but you’re not willing to do it because you’re a boring person.
"This is a void of things to do. The other day I counted the trees in the jungle, and there was 500. I found some stones by the creek and I made a face out of them – that’s what we’re talking about."
Andrew also commented on the heated moments he had with retired footballer Ian Wright, and insisted the atmosphere in the jungle simply means emotions are heightened between campmates.
He added: "That was days and days ago – you’re eating such a small amount of food and you’re not really sleeping well so it’s bound to happen.
"Me and Ian got on really well… we’re probably the most emotional men in the camp… and our emotions were in sync. When he was sad, I was also sad, and that’s what happened. I loved Ian."
Meanwhile, the departing star was asked to pick his potential winner as the show continues, and he admitted he had already decided he wouldn’t mind leaving before any of his co-stars.
He explained: "Loads of worthy winners, so many worthy ones. Caitlyn [Jenner], so game, at 70 willing to live in a jungle. She’s an extraordinary human being, great company.
"James [Haskell] keeps the camp going with his relentless banter… there’s loads of people. [Kate Garraway] is the mum of the camp, she’s been cooking and keeping people’s spirits up."
