Amy Poehler to star with Tina Fey in ‘The Nest’


Amy Poehler is in talks to star alongside Tina Fey in ‘The Nest’.

The ‘Parks and Recreation’ star – who has hosted the Golden Globes awards ceremony with her fellow ‘Saturday Night Live’ comedian for the past two years – is in final negotiations to play the ‘Mean Girls’ star’s sister in the upcoming comedy, according to Deadline.

‘The Nest’ will be the second time the Weekend Update co-anchors have worked together on a film as they also starred alongside each other in 2008 comedy ‘Baby Mama’.

Poehler, 42, and Fey, 43, will star have been cast as two 30-something sisters who come home to find their parents have put their childhood home up for sale and decide to mark their final weekend together in the house by throwing a wild party which sees them bond, feud and finally grow up.

‘Pitch Perfect’ director Jason Moore will helm the project, with the screenplay penned by ‘Saturday Night Live’ writer Paula Pell, and Fey will also take on a producing role under her Little Stranger banner alongside Everyman Pictures’ Jay Roach.

Poehler made an appearance at the Mip-TV festival in Cannes earlier this week to speak about her Comedy Central show ‘Broad City’ which has been taken on for a second series.
