Amy Childs: It’s a shame Mark Wright didn’t return for TOWIE anniversary show

Amy Childs thinks it’s "a shame" Mark Wright didn’t return for TOWIE’s 10-year anniversary.

The 30-year-old star returned to the ITVBe reality show last night (06.09.20) for ‘TOWIE Turns 10: All Back to Essex’, a look back at 10 years of the programme, but she was left "shocked" that Mark opted against appearing on the celebration show.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column, Amy said: "’TOWIE’ is a part of our lives. It is how we got famous. ‘TOWIE’ basically made us all, so I think it’s only fair we come back to support the show’s 10-year anniversary. Without ‘TOWIE’, Mark and the others wouldn’t be where they are now.

"Mark is a friend of mine but I think we have to remember where we have come from. The show has achieved so much. It has given us all amazing opportunities and lives.

"It is a shame Mark has chosen not to celebrate and be a part of that. It is the least we can do. Everyone loved Mark. He was known as the King of Essex. He’ll always be a huge part of the show and I’m shocked he’s chosen not to be there."

‘TOWIE Turns 10: All Back To Essex’ featured some secrets from behind the scenes and shared the truth behind the programme’s biggest scandals, and Amy thinks it is "sad" that some of the show’s former stars didn’t return for the milestone.

She added: "For those that haven’t gone back, I think it’s sad. Our lives are different now, yes, but we owe all that to Towie and the least we can do is celebrate that."

As well as Amy, Essex icons such as Joey Essex, Jess Wright, Lydia Bright, and Danielle Armstrong returned for the special episode, as did many others.
