Alice Cooper to headline Stone Free Festival

Alice Cooper is to headline the Stone Free Festival at The O2 in London in June 2016.

The 67-year-old rock icon will be among the headline attractions at the new music festival, which will feature two 12-hour days of classic rock music, with a host of live performances being spread over multiple stages on June 18 and 19.

Looking forward to the exclusive show, Alice – who is married to Sheryl Goddard – said: "Coming to the UK is always like coming home for us, fans in the UK are always high energy, always there.

"Headlining the very first Stone Free Festival at London’s The O2 in June next year is an example of why we feel so welcome. It will be my only performance in the UK next year, so that makes it even more special. And as always with my show you can expect the unexpected!"

Also headlining the festival is prog rock star Rick Wakeman, who is set to perform a world exclusive performance of his ‘The Myths And Legends Of King Arthur And The Knights Of The Round Table’ album for the first time since 1975.

The 12 million selling LP is based on the legend of England’s medieval monarch King Arthur and Wakeman can’t wait to perform the concert album again.

Wakeman said: "After the success of the ‘Journey To The Centre Of The Earth’ shows last year, I’m over the moon to have the opportunity to perform ‘King Arthur’ for the first time since 1975 with an orchestra and choir. It’s going to be wonderful!"

Contrary to earlier reports, Alice Cooper will not be joining Rick Wakeman on stage. They are in fact headlining the festival on different days.

Day and Weekend and Rock Royalty tickets for Stone Free Festival will be on general sale at Stonefreefestival.com on November 20.
