Alfonso Cuaron announces next movie project

Alfonso Cuaron’s next movie will be a Mexican family drama.
This is Cuaron’s first movie since the Oscar-winning ‘Gravity’ in 2013 and the filmmaker will write and direct the drama, which tells the story of a year in the life of middle-class family in Mexico City in the 1970s.
Alfonso has partnered with Participant Media to make the film, which will begin shooting later this year in Mexico.
He said: "This film is close to my heart and my first in Mexico since ‘Y Tu Mamá También.’ I am thrilled to be making it with the Participant team."
Participant Media CEO David Linde said: "Alfonso is a master storyteller, who breaks cultural boundaries around the world by skillfully connecting audiences through the power of cinema. We are elated to be joining him on this film."
Cuaron, Gabriela Rodriguez and Nicolas Celis will produce the film, while Linde, Jeff Skoll and Jonathan King from Participant Media will serve as executive producers.
It was revealed earlier this year that the talented director is "consulting" on Andy Serkis’ big-screen adaptation of ‘The Jungle Book’ for Warner Bros.
Benedict Cumberbatch, Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Matthew Rhys are star in the movie, with Andy playing Baloo as well as directing and producing.
The release date for the flick has been pushed back from October 2017 to October 2018.
