Alex Murphy wants to star in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

Alex Murphy wants to take part in the next series of ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’

The ‘Dancing on Ice’ professional figure skater would love to sign up for the ITV show later this year after it was revealed her contract for the skating competition wasn’t renewed.

Asked during an Instagram Q&A whether she’d like to appear on the hit show, Alex replied: "Haha I would love to! Though I think I might struggle eating all those delicacies and haunted mansions freak me right out."

Alex made the comments shortly after the show was forced to move from its usual home in Australia to a spot in the UK due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Kevin Lygo, ITV’s director of television, recently said: "We announced last week that we were doing all we could to make the series, and I’m thrilled that we can bring the show to viewers, albeit not in the jungle.

"We have a great team both on and off screen, and I know they will produce a hugely entertaining series."

ITV Studios’ director of entertainment Richard Cowles added: "We pulled out all the stops to try and make the series happen in Australia.

"Unfortunately, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and despite us looking at many different contingencies, it became apparent that it just wasn’t possible for us to travel and make the show there.

"However, we are all really excited about a UK version of ‘I’m a Celebrity’. While it will certainly be different producing the show from the UK, the same tone and feel will remain."
