The ‘One Show’ presenter has announced she and her husband Charlie Thompson, whom she married last year at Cardiff Castle in Wales, are expecting their first child together and the little one is due into the world early next year.
Taking to her Twitter account on Friday (02.09.16), the brunette beauty said: "Charlie & I are very happy to confirm that we’re expecting a baby in the new year. Feel so lucky that we’re about to become parents. Xx. (sic)"
The 39-year-old star refused to divulge what the sex of the unborn tot is but admitted she and Charlie feel "very lucky."
Uploading a photograph of a white baby grow with "coming soon" emblazoned across it, Alex wrote: "Absolutely delighted and feel very lucky that we’re about to become parents. #andbreatheout #newbabyalert (sic)"
Meanwhile, Alex’s baby news comes just a few months after she admitted she was worried she may have left it too late to have kids as her mother went through early menopause.
She said: "It’s useful to know because we shouldn’t hang about, but at the end of the day, what can you do? You hope it will happen. It might, it might not.
"The more pressure you put on yourself, the worse it becomes, because the one thing you want gets further out of reach. I haven’t chosen to leave it until I’m 39 – that is the situation I have found myself in."
