Alesha Dixon will start recording a new single

Alesha Dixon is set to start recording a new single.
The 37-year-old singer songwriter – who rose to fame as a member of the girlband Mis-Teeq – has confirmed she is working on a new EP, and she has teased she will release the new material next month after her latest album ‘Do It For Love’.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the AOL Build UK on Friday (22.07.16), the ‘Britain’s got Talent’ judge said: "I’m going to start working on a new EP next month, so I’m good, I’m back on stage, I’m happy."
But in order to get to her happy place, the ‘Boy Does Nothing’ hitmaker had to set up her own record label Precious Stone Records in June 2015, because she didn’t want to compete with younger artists.
She explained: "I decided to set up my own label. I think whether people want to admit it or not there is definitely ageism in the industry and for me, I didn’t want to compete with 20 year-olds. I thought you know what, I’m a 37-year-old woman I know what I want let me just go and set up my own label and do it on my terms and make a record that I love, no politics, no games.
"My intention changed, it’s not music, it’s a business and I just wanted to get back to what I love."
Alesha’s recent album is her first in five years and the track, which is also the title of the album name, was written about her love for music, and she is proud of the outcome.
The mother of one – who has two-year-old daughter Azura with her partner Azuka Onyonye – she said: "There’s something so rewarding about doing the whole thing yourself, I put together an amazing team of people that I have worked with over the years – it was a passion project and we were the underdogs and it felt great."
In addition to her upcoming solo plans, the ‘Scandalous’ hitmaker has confirmed she’d love to reunite with her former band members Sabrina Washington and Su-Elise Nash in the future.
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ panellist said: "I did meet the girls and we had a little catch up and there’s still that respect there … we toyed around with the idea of writing and will see what organically and authentically grows. But 100 per cent – I’d love for us to have a moment, something will happen, I just don’t know when or where."
