Alan Carr’s charity supergroup spoof

Alan Carr is fronting a ‘Stand Up To Cancer’ spoof supergroup to rival Band Aid.
The comedian is leading the charge for a fundraising song in a similar vein to 1984 festive classic ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ with plans to film the entire thing for a mockumentary called ‘The Big C List’.
The Channel 4 parody show will see the 42-year-old star promise bosses a huge roster of big names from his A-list phone book, including Beyonce, Madonna, Victoria and David Beckham and even the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
However, it doesn’t look like his version will rival Bob Geldof’s line-up – which featured the likes of Bono, Sir Paul McCartney and Sting – as the famous faces turn him down and he’s left scurrying around for C-list celebrities.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: "This is a really fun show and will see singing cameos from soap, music, sport and TV stars from the Seventies, Eighties, Nineties and Noughties.
"The running joke is that Alan’s been unable to secure Hollywood superstars, so the gag is on him. He’s really excited about the show and is looking forward to employing his acting skills.
"Producers are making it clear to celebs that it’s all good fun and the real aim is to raise loads of cash for a good cause."
Alan has hosted the charity telethon a number of times in the past alongside Davina McCall, and he’ll be involved again with Dermot O’Leary, Greg James and Scarlett Moffatt next month.
