Alan Carr wants Chatty Man back on screens

Alan Carr wants ‘Chatty Man’ back on screens.

The 43-year-old comedian’s comedy show – which featured celebrity guests taking part in hilarious sketches and games – was axed in 2016 after seven years on Channel 4, but the British funnyman is hopeful that one day another channel will relaunch it.

He told the Daily Star newspaper’s Hot TV column: "I love ‘Chatty Man’ and would love for it to come back.

"Since we’ve been in lockdown I’ve been watching some old clips on YouTube and such lovely memories came flooding back

"And what great guests – but awful drinks!

"Maybe it could come back on another channel … who knows?

"But maybe not the History Channel – that would be weird!"

In the meantime, Alan has revived five iconic gameshows, including the late great Sir Bruce Forsyth’s ‘Price is Right’ and ‘Play Your Cards Right’, on ITV’s ‘Epic Gameshow’.

And Alan – who had the late former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ co-host on ‘Chatty Man’ when it launched – admitted he felt like he’d transformed into him, but he admitted it was "difficult" to try an emulate his famous "mannerisms".

He said: "I did find myself sticking my chin out: ‘Didn’t they do well’ but it came from a good place.

"It was so hard to do all the Brucie mannerisms as he’s just in our gameshow DNA.

"We’ve grown up with him, haven’t we?"

And when asked if he felt Bruce’s presence, Alan quipped: "We were filming two classic gameshows, not ‘Most Haunted’."
