Alan Carr loses chance of knighthood thanks to Drag Race

Alan Carr has joked ‘Drag Race’ has scuppered his chances of a knighthood.
The ‘Chatty Man’ host and Graham Norton will alternate on the panel of the British version of the show alongside RuPaul and Michelle Visage, and the 43-year-old presenter doesn’t think Queen Elizabeth will be too impressed by the programme’s first challenge.
All 10 contestants will have to impress the panel with "iconic" styles and outfits from the monarch’s 67-year reign.
Alan told the Daily Star newspaper: "I’ve probably lost my knighthood, or damehood!"
Meanwhile, Graham thinks Michelle will be the hardest judge to impress.
He said: "She’s fierce. She is the toughest."
The drag queens competing on the show are Baga Chipz, Blu Hydrangea, Crystal, Cheryl Hole, Divina De Campo, Gothy Kendoll, Sum Ting Wong, Scaredy Kat, The Vivienne and Vinegar Strokes.
As well as the regular panel, they will also face a number of guest judges including former Girls Aloud star Cheryl, Spice Girl Geri Horner, ‘Game of Thrones’ actress Maisie Williams, supermodel Twiggy, Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall, actor Andrew Garfield and broadcaster Lorraine Kelly.
MNEK, AJ and Curtis Pritchard have also been announced as Drag Race superstar coaches.
Curtis – who recently placed fourth on ITV2 reality dating show ‘Love Island’ – said: "I jump at the chance of working with my brother anytime anything together comes up, so doing that and being asked to be part of something so iconic was a yes from me!"
‘Drag Race UK’ will air on BBC Three section of BBC iPlayer from October 3.
