Aidan Turner was bombarded with marriage proposals during a Q&A session.
The ‘Poldark’ actor has become the subject of thousands of women’s affections after stripping off and showing off his muscles while playing Ross Poldark in the BBC’s new adaptation of Winston Graham’s novels.
And although the 31-year-old star is happy in his relationship with long-term girlfriend Sarah Greene, he had no choice but to face up to his new found heartthrob status when he was flooded with marriage proposals and raunchy questions during a Twitter Q&A.
Referring to his on-screen love interest Damelza, played by Eleanor Tomlinson, one user wrote: "Can I marry you? I can bake a mean pie, just like Damelza #AskPoldark (sic)."
However, the ‘Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies’ actor chose not to respond to some of the more embarrassing questions such as, "How do I refrain from licking my flatscreen TV?" and, ‘Can you scythe my lawn topless?"
Aidan did reply to certain queries, admitting it was "too early to say" whether there would be a second series of the show", and insisting the water was "not too cold, thank god!" when asked about his skinny dipping scene.
