Adil Ray signs up to guest present Good Morning Britain

Adil Ray has signed up to guest present ‘Good Morning Britain’.
The ‘Ackley Bridge’ star will host the breakfast show alongside Ranvir Singh on Monday (13.08.18) and Tuesday (14.08.18) – and the comedian is hoping he doesn’t sleep through his alarm.
He said: "I’m delighted that ITV have asked me to present ‘GMB’. I have grown up with ITV’s breakfast telly.
"I’ll try to channel my best Rustie Lee and the charm of the great Nick Owen. Above all, I’ll try not to miss my alarm."
‘GMB’ bosses are delighted to have signed the ‘Citizen Khan’ star up to the presenting team.
Neil Thompson, GMB’s editor, said: "It’s great to have an exciting broadcaster like Adil as part of the summer presenting team.
"He’s a fantastic broadcaster who has such versatility and can turn his hand to everything from comedy to current affairs.
"He also understands his audience and that’s a brilliant skill when it comes to live TV."
Adil will guest present the show on Monday and Tuesday, and Eamonn Holmes will return to present from Wednesday (15.08.18) to Friday (17.08.18) with Ranvir.
Eamonn has been filling in for Piers Morgan at times over the summer, but while presenting an episode of the show in April he had to walk off camera while suffering an embarrassing coughing fit.
The ‘This Morning’ presenter was interviewing comedian Julian Clary on the early morning show alongside Kate Garraway when he developed a tickle in his throat.
As Julian spoke about his children’s book towards the end of the show, he glanced at Eamonn and said: "I’m trying to talk while Eamonn is coughing away."
Eamonn replied: "I’m sorry, mate. I got one of those air conditioned coughs on the plane. I think what I might do is leave and let you guys carry on."
‘Good Morning Britain’ airs weekdays from 6am to 8.30am on ITV.
