Adele urges fans to sign petition on Grenfell Tower

Adele has urged fans to sign a petition asking for the UK Prime Minister Theresa May to take urgent action regarding the enquiry into the Grenfell Tower fire.
The ‘Someone Like You’ hitmaker visited the site shortly after the fire broke in west London – which killed around 80 people when the blaze engulfed the building in June this year – and called for donations to be made to the Grenfell Tower victims during her concert at London’s Wembley Stadium.
Now, Adele – who has four-year-old son Angelo with her partner Simon Konecki – has taken to Twitter to post a petition calling for urgent action and claimed after six months nothing is happening.
She wrote: "Please sign this with me! We need your help to sign and spread the petition and encourage others to do the same.
"It’s been almost 6 months now, we must keep on talking about what is still not happening xx. https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/206722 … (sic)"
The petition calls on the PM to not allow the inquiry to be led by a single judge but by a panel of experts with "relevant background, expertise, experience & understanding of issues facing those affected.
"It also seeks legal representation for bereaved families to see evidence and question witnesses during the hearings."
Adele also met with the firefighters, who battled tough conditions to save as many people as they could, at Chelsea Fire Station for a "cup of tea and a cuddle".
In August, Adele hosted a private movie screening of ‘Despicable Me 3’ at London’s Whiteley’s cinema for the children affected by the Grenfell Tower inferno.
And to try and cheer up those who survived the devastating incident the 29-year-old singer also invited Minions characters to meet and greet the kids to help distract them from thinking about the disaster.
Other celebrities to help with the relief effort in the wake of the fire included Mumford & Sons singer Marcus Mumford who arranged the Game For Grenfell charity soccer match to raise money for the victims.
Simon Cowell also created a charity record, a cover version of Simon and Garfunkel’s ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ which featured the likes of Stormzy, Rita Ora, Roger Daltrey, Emeli Sande and Robbie Williams, to bring in funds.
