Adam McKay in talks with Marvel Studios over new project

Adam McKay has been in discussions with Marvel Studios about a future project.

The ‘Anchorman’ director stressed there are no concrete plans in place, but he was happy to reveal that talks "are definitely going on".

McKay has already helped Marvel Studios, working on a rewrite of Ant-Man featuring Hollywood star Paul Rudd, and he told Crave Online: "[I] had such a great time working with them that we’re kicking around ideas."

The 46-year-old director expressed an interest in turning another of the Marvel characters into a movie.

He continued: "Yeah, maybe I would take on one of the characters. We haven’t locked in anything, but discussions are definitely going on."

McKay held talks with Marvel over directing ‘Ant-Man’, but the responsibility ultimately went to Peyton Reed, whose previous work includes ‘The Break-Up’.

Meanwhile, Stan Lee, the former President and Chairman of Marvel Comics, suggested recently that plans to make a movie about the Black Panther – the first black superhero in mainstream American comics – are in the works.

The 91 year old said: "Eventually, all the superheroes are going to have their own movies.

"They are already working on Ant-Man, Dr. Strange and the Black Panther and there are others I am not allowed to talk about."
