Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II got the giggles as she signed her autograph on an official portrait of herself.
The 88-year-old monarch was clearly in high spirits as she put the pen to a picture of her face which is set to be hung inside South Lynn fire station, following her visit there yesterday (02.02.15).
The Queen – who was joined by her husband Prince Philip for the outing – was met by Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk, Richard Jewson, and Norfolk’s chief fire officer, Nigel Williams, who offered them a tour around the fire service’s new £2 million premises in Horsley Fields, Norfolk.
The royal couple were also treated to an equipment demonstration by the station’s firefighters, who were more than happy to show off their skills for the pair, reports HELLO! Online.
Fireman Mark Endersby said: "The Duke was very interested in it, he was asking what does this do? What does that do?"
Queen Elizabeth – who was dressed in a camel-coloured fur-cuffed coat and cream gloves – finished off her tour by unveiling a plaque to commemorate the official opening in addition to the signed portrait.
