Nadia Sawalha insists Perez Hilton didn’t threaten Calum Best in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house.
The former ‘EastEnders’ actress – who was evicted from the reality show on the weekend – has spoken out to defend her pal after he was given a formal warning for threatening to sexually assault the 33-year-old star.
During an argument, which was broadcast on Saturday (31.01.15) night’s show, Calum gave up telling Perez to "be the d**k", to which he responded saying: "I will do, I’ll be the huge d**k and I’ll shove it up you’re a**e."
However, Nadia claims the outspoken star was using the phrase as an insult and was in no way threatening his housemate, although she told him it was "unacceptable" all the same.
She said: "We’re not Sonny and Cher. He’s a grown man, he said what he said. I’m the only person in the house… I took him out in the garden and said, ‘Why did you say that? That was unacceptable’.
"Everyone else ran off to their little corner and bitched about it, nobody said anything about it to his face.
"I’m just his friend I’m not his mother, I can’t say, ‘Right, you’re going to go to bed and you’re not going to have any dinner!’ I said, ‘That was really inappropriate, I don’t know why you said that’, but at the end of the day it wasn’t a threat, it was an insult. That’s what he did, he wasn’t threatening it."
The 50-year-old star also claimed that despite being excluded by many of the housemates for her friendship with Perez, she wouldn’t change anything about her time in the house and is adamant most of the good times she had weren’t shown on television.
Speaking on her return to ITV’s ‘Loose Women’ – on which she is a regular panellist – she said: "Ten hours of the day Perez and I had an amazing, hilarious time laughing and playing but if I was a producer…I’m not going to show that, that’s boring.
"So I stand by… I take any criticism that I get but I know I wouldn’t change a single thing I did because in the moment, moment by moment, it felt absolutely the right thing to do."
