Max George and Jamelia for Mission Survive

Max George and Jamelia are among the stars taking part in ‘Mission Survive’.

The former The Wanted singer and the ‘Loose Women’ panellist will appear in the upcoming ITV reality show in which Bear Grylls tests their ability to survive in the Central American rainforest.

They are joined by ‘Silent Witness’ actress Emilia Fox and her actor cousin Laurence Fox, former England rugby captain Mike Tindall, Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes, ‘Plebs’ funnyman Tom Rosenthal and model Vogue Williams.

Grylls taught each of the celebrity contestants to search for shelter, water, fire and food as well as how to abseil down ferocious waterfalls, cross perilous rapids, trudge through swamps and negotiate razor sharp vines while contending with scorpions, snakes and sand flies for the show.

However, each week will see one of the stars sent home as they fail to complete the tasks set by the ‘Born: Survivor: Bear Grylls’ star to his satisfaction.

Max – who claims he doesn’t "fear anything" – said of his decision to take part: "I thought it would be a lot of fun – especially all the outdoor activities. I have always been a Bear Grylls fan. For me, doing this was an absolute no brainer."

Jamelia, however, confessed she "hated the thought" of having to camp outside but decided to sign up to show her daughters Teja and Tiani that people should face their fears.

She shared: "It was such an amazing opportunity to do a show with Bear Grylls. I am such a home girl and thought this would be a wicked adventure. I wanted to prove myself and show my girls what I can do."
