Jamelia has received "overwhelming support" after "shocking" people by making it known she was being abused online.
The ‘Loose Women’ panellist, who last week slammed online trolls for sending her racist and sexist abuse, is pleased she acted how she did because it enabled her to rid herself of negative vibes and get on with "maintaining a happy lifestyle".
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "When I got trolled I became aware of myself being drawn into a negative headspace and the only way to deal with it was to raise some sort of awareness and maybe shock people into the impact that it has. The response to my tweet has been absolutely overwhelming.
"I actively pursue happiness. I don’t subscribe to any negativity, I’m not interested in anything that makes me feel bad.
"I cry, I make sure I get it out if there’s anything wrong with me. I’m really committed to maintaining a happy lifestyle."
The 34-year-old star – who has daughters Teja, 13, and Tiani, nine – also admitted she tries to be happy with what she is eating on a daily basis and as a result she has always fed her kids fruit and vegetables to try to get them used to having their five a day.
She added: "I’ve always promoted healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle to my children from day one. I just saw it as completely normal.
"For me and my children now it would be very strange to have a dinner with no vegetables. That’s not a complete dinner to us. You just have to make it normal."
