Taron Egerton took acting inspiration from Colin Firth.
The 25-year-old actor – who stars alongside Colin in ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ – has revealed that he took pointers from the 54-year-old star to help him portray Gary Unwin in the film.
When asked if he took shades from the pair’s real-life relationship to use in the movie, Taron said: "I think, particularly, Colin fills the suit well – he fills the role of an English gentleman well and that’s not necessarily my obvious casting so particularly, without giving too much away, in the latter parts of the film I’ve borrowed from Colin."
Taron – whose character is mentored by Colin’s character in the film – also revealed that he is a huge fan of the ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary’ star.
Speaking about Colin’s previous work, he added to HeyUGuys.com: "’A Single Man’ is especially a film I absolutely adore and I think Colin is awesome in it. There’s a moment in that film where he finds out that his partner has died in a car crash and it’s always stuck in my mind as just being a really sublime bit of performance.
"I’ve always always admired him. What I didn’t know was much about him as a man, you know, behind the scenes but thankfully he’s every bit as lovely as you could hope he would be."
