Katie McGlynn "can’t be bothered with boys".
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress claims she’s nothing like her on-screen character Sinead Tinker, who’s dating Chesney Brown (Sam Aston), as she likes to go out with her female friends and isn’t interested in having a boyfriend.
She shared: "I can’t be bothered with boys. It is too much effort, it just gets weird. The thought of a date gets me scared.
"It is like an audition. Unless you already know the person, I find it really formal. It is so much pressure, I hate it.
"I like to go out and have a laugh with my friends like you do at 21, not stop in with Chesney every night like Sinead does. I would be bored."
The 21-year-old star – who previously played Jodie ‘Scout’ Allen in ‘Waterloo Road’ – admits her dress sense is also a far cry from that of her character on the ITV soap.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Sinead has a very odd style. I love dressing her because it means I am comfy as well. But I love getting glammed up. I am more glamorous, and I get my legs out and stuff. I would say I was more sexy and younger than Sinead, I act more my age."
Katie also revealed her family are over the moon she’s landed a role on such a popular show.
She added: "I’ve been on Corrie about a year and a half and I still feel weird. It is mint. I feel priveleged to be here.
"I used to watch it with my grandad and grandma. They used to joke, ‘When are you going to be in this?’ And now I am. They are all dead proud."
