Kristen Bell’s 33 hour labour

Kristen Bell was in labour for 33 hours.

The ‘Gossip Girl’ star – who gave birth to her second child, Delta, last month – eventually had a caesarean section.

Her husband, Dax Shepard, shared: "Kristen, God bless her was in labour for 33 hours. It was incredible.

"This was intense. And she got an epidural like hour 14, as you should, and I think dads need something. I deserve something because I was along for the ride. It’s still a car crash and I’m in the passenger seat.

"I’m playing Katy Perry and I’m rubbing her back and I’m thinking, ‘I need something for this! Help me!’

"And then at the last minute, which was heartbreaking, she then needed to have a C-section, which happens. It’s all right. I have a healthy baby so everything’s great."

Dax then joked that he "needed medication" if him and his 34-year-old wife were to have another baby.

The ‘This Is Where I Leave You’ actor – who also has 21-month-old Lincoln with Kristen – revealed how the name, Delta, was suggested by a friend as a joke.

When asked how they chose the name, he told The Ellen Degeneres Show: "It was a joke because our first daughter’s name is Lincoln, which is very masculine.

"So, a friend of mine teasingly texted me: ‘Oh, great! What’s this one gonna be? Navy Seal? Delta Force? Green Burette?’

"I was reading this text out loud to Kristen. And I said, ‘Oh, Louis Steve said what if we named her Delta?’ Delta! Delta Bell Shepard! That’s it!’"
