Mary Berry is like a "scary mum" to Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc.
The two presenters believe part of the success of ‘Great British Bake Off’ is the strong bond between the and the show’s judges, Mary and Paul Hollywood.
Sue said: "The viewers like that we all get on. With Mel and me, there’s a love there. And with ‘Bake Off’ our family is complete. We have a scary, brilliant, cool mum in Mary and a wayward hilarious brother in Paul."
Mel added: "We laugh all the time."
The duo are returning to live TV with afternoon chat show ‘Mel and Sue’, their first in 16 years, and admit they are so worried about things going wrong, they have warned people it is their "farewell tour" so they will go easier on them.
Sue said: "I’ve started calling it the ‘Farewell Tour’ in case it fails.
"I’ll say, ‘Mel and I will always love each other but it’s goodbye.’ And if it works, we’ll rebrand it and say, ‘Well hello again’."
Mel added to Closer magazine: "Everyone is really nice if they think it’s a farewell tour. They give you the benefit of the doubt."
