Helen Flanagan quit smoking the day she found out she was pregnant.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress has confessed to giving up the "disgusting" habit the moment she realised she was expecting her first child with boyfriend Scott Sinclair.
Quizzed on whether she’d quit, she said: "Yes, absolutely; since the day I found out I was pregnant I haven’t had one cigarette. I think it’s absolutely disgusting when women smoke when they’re pregnant. I want my baby to have the best possible start it can."
The 24-year-old beauty – who has been eating ice lollies to curb her morning sickness since falling pregnant – admits she’s trying to keep her fitness up despite her growing baby bump.
She explained: "I try and swim as much as I can. I usually swim an hour a day – however, I have cut down now I’m pregnant. I didn’t go to the gym before I was pregnant so I’m not doing that, but I’m keeping fit by walking and swimming."
However, Helen has no plans to put on any "unnecessary weight" by eating too much, although she’s not worried about going up a few dress sizes.
She told OK! magazine: "I’ve not put any weight on because I’ve been ill. I’ve got a little bump but I still feel slim and I still fit into my size 8 clothes. That might change but I can’t worry about that.
"I’m going to be as healthy as I can but if I put weight on, I can’t help that. I don’t agree with the whole eating for two thing. My priority is the baby and my figure comes second, but I don’t want to put on any unnecessary weight."
