Elle Macpherson thought turning 50 was "cool".
The Australian supermodel – who is nicknamed ‘The Body’ – reached the milestone last March but insists she feels better than ever.
Asked if she panicked about turning 50, she said: "I just thought, how cool! I have years of experience – and hopefully wisdom.
"It’s a wonderful milestone from an emotional, spiritual and a physical point of view. I feel better than ever."
Elle – who has sons Flynn, 16, and Aurelius, 11, from a previous relationship and is married to hotelier Jeffrey Soffer – has changed her beauty regime as she has gotten older and though her body is different to how it used to be, she is happy about the changes.
She said: "Your skin texture changes [as you get older] so I’m very diligent about massage, exfoliation and circulation to make sure the skin is nourished and moisturised.
"The shape of your body changes to some extent, especially after having children. But I embrace it.
"I don’t want to have the same body that I had when I was 20 – after all, I’m not the same person as I was then."
And Elle found turning 40 made her look after her body more.
She explained to Britain’s OK! magazine: "When I realised how my wellness affected the way I look, I started to focus on it – making sure my body was nourished and that I was having a healthy diet and listening to my body and dealing with ailments as they came."
